The Vultures hit the road for one last race, and this was a big one – The Oregon State Championships! The team made their way to the high desert yet again in Madras, Oregon. This particular course was the longest in the series, requiring more stamina but also providing a couple of on-course jumps our riders gladly got stylish on.
Everyone woke up to good warm weather on race day, with dry and dusty conditions through sage fields making up most of the course. The sage and rocks were unkind to Ossie Dunn and Isa Culver who flatted during their races. However, most Vultures made it through unscathed and our team flew away with 3 state championships and multiple podiums: 1 runner up, 1 3rd place, 1 5th place, and 7 additional top 10’s.
What a season it was, congrats to everyone who raced hard this year in our 5th anniversary season. Now it’s time for some rest, trailwork, and off season activities!
