A rider-favorite course featuring smooth swoopy turns through desert sage combined with perfect fall weather to make race 4 in Madras one to remember and a venue to look forward to for next year. Most memorable of all though was the Vultures’ surprising team result at 2nd overall, marking what we think is the teams’ first-ever podium. Major contributors to this result were Alma Galicia’s 1st place finish in MS2 girls and Tahvo Hansen’s 2nd place finish in HS1 boys. Shout out as well to Malachi Ingram who made the very difficult time cutoff to land him the maximum total 3 laps in his effort achieving 36th in a field of 44! Additionally we garnered 2nd place finishes in several other categories including HS3 girls – Jade Savage, HS1 girls – Alyana Van Horn, and MS2 boys – Porter Younkin. Also on the podium were Isa Culver HS3 girls (4th), Rye Rilling MS2 boys (3rd), Grant Heeter MS3 boys (5th), and Colton Ainsworth MS1 boys (5th). The race also completed a 4 race south conference points series tallying riders’ best 3 results with the following accomplishments:

The final race of the season coming up will be a state championship race pitting the best from our south conference with riders from the north conference for the first and only time this season in a winner take all format. The race is October 22nd in Prineville – the same venue from race 1 this season. Wish us luck!
