The Vultures shared in good times and helping each other through challenging moments as they threw down impressive efforts at Moore Park in Klamath Falls where the course was almost as perfect as the weather. A longer course than Prineville and featuring a narrow and twisty taped section a la cyclocross style made the cutoff time a bigger challenge in race #2. This provided an extra challenge for 2 of our riders competing in their first ever NICA races: Levi Wood – 9th grade boy (HS1) from Mt Shasta and Alma Galicia – 7th grade girl (MS2) from Ashland, who didn’t just finish but landed podium finishes! We also had 2 first time race winners: Colton Ainsworth 6th grade boy from Grants Pass (MS1) and Porter Younkin 7th grade boy from Medford (MS2). Last but not least long-time team member and HS boys captain Casey McEnroe 10th grade boy from Ashland (HS1) enjoyed his first-ever podium! The team travels to Newport in 2 weeks for round 3 on the coast. Full team results
